Teenage Friends Film Their Own Death While Being Shot Dead By Police From Helicopter
Some friends having time together in a car have filmed their own deaths when they were shot by police while making a Facebook Live video.
The four friends were live streaming from inside a car when it was peppered with bullets by armed officers.
Metro UK reports that the incident happened in Brazil.
Their Facebook friends watched as they were blasted from a police helicopter in Rio de Janeiro in the eastern Brazilian state of the same name.
Shocking footage captured the moment the gang were targeted during a police crackdown on drug trafficking.
The video clip, which was taken from social media, shows the teenage boys travelling in a car.
A passenger uses his mobile phone to broadcast the gang, who can be seen laughing and joking as loud music plays in the background.
The music suddenly cuts out and is soon replaced by the sound of gunfire although at first the teenagers do not appear concerned.
The phone then falls to the floor of the car, the image obscured, while the sound of shooting continues. It is believed that three of the four teenagers died as a result of the shooting while the other one was injured.
They are believed to have been suspects in an operation against drug trafficking in the city.
The footage was later posted online where netizens applauded the actions of the police.
One called Marcia Borges said: ‘Bandits go to hell. I love the police.’
Rio de Janiero has long had a problem with criminal gangs who are based in the city’s many slums, or favelas, and often target tourist hotspots.
It was not clear why the police opened fire on the youths without attempting an arrest, or whether their actions were legal.
