Addiction to WhatsApp Caused Students Failure – Former Law School Director

A former Director at the Ghana School of Law, Kwaku Ansah Asare has attributed the mass failure of students in the 2017 bar exams to addiction of social media. Asare believes the current crop of law students are not serious with their studies.

He said, “The present generation of law students don’t devote their time for law studies. We are always whatsapping or playing with phones while in class”.
This assertion adds up to the various reasons scores of Ghanaian have attributed to the recent news that 80 percent of law students who wrote the 2017 Ghana Bar exams failed.
The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the Ghana Law School have said the examination board of the school isn’t functioning well and has therefore called for it to be dissolved.
The former Director also said, “students during the exams, don’t read the instructions properly hence the mass failure.”
On the way forward, Mr. Ansah Asare urged the students who have failed to take their studies seriously if they want to practice law in the country.
