FUTMINNA Students Express Displeasure Over Exams Fixed Around Election Period, Call For Reschedule

 


Students lamented that the decision by the school is a clear way to prevent students from voting.

 

Students of the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA), Niger State have lamented that the decision by the school to fix their 2020/2021 second semester examinations around election period is a clear way to prevent students from voting.

 

The students called for the examination to be rescheduled to enable them travel to their respective states for the upcoming general election next month.

 

Saharareporters said some examinations is to hold a day before election and some two days after.

 

A student lamented that the management of the school did not consider student who are not from the state and still went ahead to fix the exams around the election period.

 

This is a clear way to prevent student from voting knowing that this election is critical, he added.

 

Another student, identified as Solomon Dominion, said that the school released timetable and his exams will start 20th February, 2023, this make it impossible for him to go back home and vote.

 

He wants the date readjusted so as not to disenfranchise him and other students.
