Snoop Dogg requests collaboration with Tems
Snoop Dogg, a famous American rapper and actor, has asked the reigning artiste in Nigeria, Tems, to feature on one of his upcoming songs.
After revealing that his family enjoyed her song “Free mind,” Snoop Dogg made a video in which he asked the “Free mind” singer to do a feature with him.
“So Tems, when we gonna make a record, you know I’m a fan. I had to get that out the way now let’s get to the s***. Let’s make a f****** hit record. Girl, you be having my whole family dancing to your s***. I need one with you, and you can post that. Happy new year D.O. Double J,” the rapper said.
Snoop Dogg is one of the most well-known African American musicians in the U.S. today. On Dr Dre’s first solo single, “Deep Cover,” and album, The Chronic, he first gained widespread attention in 1992.
Over 23 million of his albums have been sold in the United States, and 35 million have been sold globally since then.
Tems, meantime, has been making waves worldwide since she was featured on Wizkid’s 2020 single “Essence,” which climbed into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 after a remix featuring Justin Bieber was released and won her a Grammy Award nomination.
Drake’s “certified lover boy” album featured her that same year on a track called “Fountains.”
Tems has been nominated for three awards at this year’s 65th Grammy ceremony. Two of these nominations are for her work on American rapper Future’s “Wait for You,” and the third is for her appearance on Beyonce’s Renaissance album.
