Anyaegbunam Esthe, Obi, Commissioner, others mourn as Nollywood star Muonagor goes home
Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Hon. Dom Onyenji on Friday mourned the late Nollywood icon, Chief Amaechi Muonagor, in his Obosi country home, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
Also at the burial to bid the film maker farewell were National and State executives of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), including National Vice President Southeast, Anigbo Clement, (a.k.a. AB Cowboy), Uwaezeoke, Udokwu from Ogidi, among others.
Obi who lamented the death of the icon urged the bereaved family to take heart even as he prayed God for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
Commissioner Onyenji, while mourning the late icon, described Nollywood as an industry for those with creativity, urging stakeholders to work hard to promote the ideal of the film industry.
“This is an industry for people who are creative. We as government are here to also mourn the Nollywood legend who has played his role and brought up scores in the industry,” he stated.
National President of AGN, Chief Emeka Rollas Ejezie, represented by a veran actor, Chief Steve Eboh, urged the bereaved family to take heart, praying God to grant the bereaved family the heart to bear the loss.
On her part, state chairman of AGN, Mrs Anyaegbunam Esther described the deceased as both mentor and father.
“We lost somebody who was very precious to us, somebody people look up to as a father in the industry. He mentored so many of us.
“We urge the bereaved family to take heart. God in His infinite mercy will grant you the heart to bear the irreparable loss,” she prayed.
