Explosion aimed at staging insecurity for emergency rule in Rivers – Fubara
Fubara accuses Pro-Wike protesters of attempts to bomb hotel.
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has stated that the target of those who detonated the explosive around the Hotel Presidential during the protest by loyalists of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, was to create the impression of heightened insecurity in the State.
The governor noted that the act was deliberate knowing that the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation, led by its Chairman, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu, was in Port Harcourt to meet with the state government.
