Nnokwa Youths Raise Awareness On Negative Effects Of Social Vices For Secondary School Students.

In a bid to build a greater society and better future for the younger generation, Nnokwa youths have organized a sensitization programme to raise awareness on the negative impacts of social vices and also the best approach to make best career choices.

The event which was held ay Ubili Civic Center, Nnokwa, Idemili South Local Government Area featured lectures on dangers associated with social vices, making informed and productive careers choices and proper sexual orientation.
The guest speakers including, Dr Nkem Okafor, Sir Charles Abaekih and Mrs Adamaka Edozie explained to the students why they should not be involved in drug abuse, cultism and other addictive habits, how  best to chose a career and build a great future through their chosen careers. 

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government, Mrs Amaka Obi, who commended the initiative, called on the students to avoid vices that can negatively impact their lives and render their future unproductive.

She advised that communities should emulate such initiative to achieve value reorientation and have young people who will be committed to being great leaders tomorrow.
The Chairman, Post Primary School Service Commission, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, represented by the Head of ICT of the commission, Mr Modestus Ogbuezi, tagged the programme a unique one and encouraged the students to maximize the opportunity.

She called on the students to also utilize the education encouraging and friendly environment created by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to advance their performances and be great ambassadors of the society.

Earlier, the Nnokwa Youth President, Comrade Ifeanyi Eriobu, in his opening remark, emphasized that the rate of moral decay in the society and the level of involvement of young people in social vices necessitated the event.

He noted that the target was to catch them young as prevention is far better than cure.

Comrade Eriobu, pointed that the future Governor Soludo, is building for Anambra needs people with right mindset to lead that future.

On behalf of the students, Miss Chisom Ude of Ave Maria Secondary school, thanked Nnokwa youths for the initiative and assured that they will put to practice what they learnt to become great people for a better society.

The programme which was very interactive attracted students from the four secondary schools in Nnokwa, the President General of Nnokwa Progress Union, Comm. Joe Anyika, among others and climaxed with presentation of gifts to most engaging students.
