Patriots for Europe: Hungary’s Orban launches new EU parliament alliance
Hungarian PM Viktor Orban wants to line up alongside Austria’s nationalist Freedom Party and Czechia’s centrist group headed by ex-PM Andrej Babis to form an alliance that will “change European politics”.
Orban insisted in a press conference Sunday that the ‘Patriots for Europe’ group would “make Europe great again” by promoting “peace, security and development instead of war, migration and stagnation”.
The faction will need support from at least four other countries to be officially recognised as a group in the EU parliament.
