Amidst the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has once more urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in the state as a matter of urgency.

Making the call during a press conference in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the caretaker chairman, CTC, of the party, Chief Tony Okocha said there were clear indices of lawlessness in the state orchestrated by none state actors, “and if this scenario is not assuaged now, it will be too late”.
Okocha also explained that the controversial Law No 2 of 2024 was not targeted at elongating the tenure of the outgone Chairmen but for future considerations.
