Trump Criticizes Bill Maher As “Overrated” And Claims His Show Has Become Irrelevant
“Bill Maher, the highly overrated ‘Star’ of the ratings challenged show with the Fake, Loud and Obnoxious laughter pouring out of your set every few seconds, even when nothing was said that was funny (which is most of the time!), suffers from a terminal case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump said in the Saturday morning Truth Social post.
Hours before Trump’s comments, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and former Representative Adam Kinzinger appeared on “Real Time with Bill Maher” to caution against another Trump presidency and discuss legal issues involving the former president.
During their discussion, Cuomo and Maher expressed their belief that the hush money case against Trump in New York should not have been pursued, arguing it politicized the justice system and inadvertently bolstered Trump’s campaign. Maher contended that prioritizing cases related to Trump’s alleged election interference would have been more appropriate.
“If they had just heard the one about trying to overthrow the government of the United States. That’s the main thing! He tried to overthrow the government of the United States! And we’re never going to hear that,” Maher said Friday evening. And good for you,” Cuomo said, gesturing towards Kinzinger, “for January 6.”
During his final term in Congress, Kinzinger served on the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. He distanced himself from the former president and the GOP after the events of January 6, 2021. The next morning, Trump cautioned fellow Republicans against appearing on Maher’s show or engaging with him.
“Republicans should stop using him as a reference point, his show is dead!” Trump wrote.
