Anambra's Youth Ministry, NASME Concludes Second Batch of Training in 1Youth2Skills Master Trainers Retraining and Certification Programme
Anambra State's Ministry of Youth Development and the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME) have wrapped their jointly organised capacity orientation sessions for master trainers in the ongoing second phase of the '1Youth 2 Skills Solution' (1Y2SS).
Bobojaytv gathered that the two-day exercise held in two batches comprising over 300 participants each drew businesses and vocation centres owners from all the 179 communities in Anambra State.
First batch of the master trainers had their two-day training session last week while the second batch had theirs this week.
The master trainers capacity were taught business management skills how to impart knowledge on trainees. Basic factors in record keeping, financial documentation and mentor-mentee relationship as well as workplace safety and brand projection were part of the orientation.
Traditional rulers, clergy men and women, heads of vocational training institutions also participated along with business owners in the exercise.
Head of the Greenfield Freedom Academy, Isseke, Ihiala Local Government Area (LGA), Rev. Samuel Obijuru praised the 1Y2SS. He described it as an initiative that establishes Gov. Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State as an innovative, and well focused leader who "also keeps his promise."
He described Anambra State government as very passionate about young people and reasoned that with programs like 1Y2SS "our young ones will have some productive skills to rely on, get engaged and shun resorting to crimes."
The monarch of Ifitedunu, Dunukofia LGA, HRM, Igwe Chukwuemekalum Ilounoegbunam, who was in the training, also dubbed 1Y2SS a game changer in tackling the knotty unemployment and insecurity situation in Nigeria.
Hailing 1Y2SS as ingenious initiative of Anambra State government His Majesty Dr. Ilounoegbunam said that 1Y2SS can potentially, foster economic transformation through its focus on youths' employment, productivity and empowerment.
According to him, empowerment of the youth is the best way forward for Nigeria as it holds the key to enduring social and economic development of local communities, states and the country.
