First Congress Democrat calls on Biden to step aside from presidential race
Texas congressman Lloyd Doggett has become the first House Democrat to call on Joe Biden to step aside after his poor debate performance. Doggett stated Biden failed to defend his accomplishments and expose Donald Trump's “lies,” urging him to withdraw like Lyndon Johnson once did.
“While much of his work has been transformational, he pledged to be transitional,” Doggett said. “He has the opportunity to encourage a new generation of leaders from whom a nominee can be chosen to unite our country through an open, democratic process.
