GPSDC seeks support To Fund TB Project

The Gender Perspective and Social Development Centre (GPSDC), has sought the support and collaboration of the TB Network in Anambra State towards successful implementation of its Fund TB Project in the area.

Ozoemena described Unachukwu and her team members as important stakeholders in the implementation of the TB intervention in the state.

According to her, the advocacy visit is to partner with her team in the network to achieve better funding for tuberculosis programme in the state.

“The project is geared towards enhanced and sustainable service delivery through increased domestic investment for Tuberculosis (TB) interventions in the five states across south east and south-south regions. They are: Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta, and Imo.

“The project seeks to achieve improved releases of allocated TB funds in the states’ approved budgets, extension of coverage of state health insurance to TB patients, as well as private sector engagement to enhance TB services through collaborative initiatives, resource support, and knowledge-sharing,” she said

Responding, Mrs Ify Unachukwu assured that the TB Network in the state would offer any necessary support to ensure that the project achieved its lofty objectives in the state.

“This is a noble course, I must confess. My team and I will work with you to ensure that this intervention succeeds in the state”.

“While we hope to achieve greater government funding for the TB campaign, the private sector is expected to provides an additional funding for TB services,” she noted.
