The Nigerian House of Representatives has approved a 50% reduction in their salaries for a period of six months
According to daily report, this decision aims to show solidarity with Nigerians facing economic challenges and hardship.
The move was prompted by a motion introduced by Representative Isiaka Ayokunle, which called for dialogue instead of protests.
Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu suggested the salary cut, which will amount to N108 million monthly for the next six months.
