Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde has charged Intelligence officers in the state to be vigilant, proactive and innovative in their approach to gathering and analyzing information capable of assisting in reduction of crime within the state.
Maku gave the advice during a meeting with the Intelligence officers across the twenty one local government of the state to strategize on proactive measures to gather critical information and stay ahead of criminal elements.
The meeting, held at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters, Awka, emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering in preventing and combating crime.
Maku noted that the lack of effective intelligence gathering could hinder ability to proactively prevent and combat crime, leaving citizens vulnerable to criminal activities.
“We must stay ahead of criminals and be proactive in our approach to security, we cannot afford to continue operating in an information vacuum “
“Intelligence gathering is key to our success, and I charge you all to be diligent and committed to this critical aspect of our operations,” he said.
The NSCDC boss called for enhanced collaboration with other security agencies, stakeholders and the public to bridge the intelligence gap and ensure a safer and more secure Anambra.
Earlier, Head of Intelligence and Investigation Department, Assistant Commandant Amadi Marcel said with the renewed focus on intelligence gathering, the NSCDC Anambra State Command was poised to further reduce crime levels and ensure a safer and more secure environment for citizens and residents of the state.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance collaboration with other security agencies and stakeholders to ensure a seamless flow of information and a united front against crime.
