Anambra takes delivery of renovated Facilities from Business Mogul, Aguowo
A Non-Governmental Organization, IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation has officially hands over 12 million renovated Principal House and Corper’s Lodge to the Anambra State Government.
The building which was a dilapidated structure, underwent complete overhauling with new roofing, tiles, toilet facilities, doors, and windows to house the Principal, Vice Principal and Corps members posted to Ezike High School, Nibo.
Commissioning the building at Ezike High School, Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma -Udeh noted that progressive developmental transformation in the school is the result of public-private community partnership the present administration has always advocated for.
“I have practically entered into every house in the state calling on people to collaborate with the state government through the public-private community partnership as Governor Soludo believes that every individual has a part to play in governance as everyone represents an arm of the government,” she posited.
She commended the benefactor for his dogged philanthropic gestures in his community Nibo, State, and Nigeria.
“We thank High Chief Ichie Ignatius Aguowo for the timely completion of projects undertaken by the foundation. This is worthy of emulation by others.
“We also commend the Nibo town union for collaborating with the government in walling the school. We call on illustrious sons of Anambra state to collaborate with the state in its educational transformative projects in community schools,” she added.
Chairman of the Post Primary School Commission PPSC, Prof Nkechi Ikediugwu applauded Ichie IG Aguowo and the Nibo community for the various projects in the school, pledging the commission’s readiness to redeem its promise of delivering laboratory equipment to the school having met the criteria stipulated by the state which included the erection of perimeter fencing.
Earlier in his speech, Ichie Ignatius Aguowo, the founder of IG Aguowu Health and Academic Foundation stated that the renovated Principal house and Corper’s Lodge was his way of paying back to his alma mater.
He also commended the Ministry of Education for its swift response to the approval of projects undertaken by the foundation, saying his philanthropy stem from a deep-seated passion and commitment to help the less privileged have access to quality health and education.
Acknowledging several transformative restructuring the educational sector has witnessed under the present administration, Aguowo disclosed that his foundation spent about N50 million annually providing medical care to the less privileged while his education scholarship scheme has close to 500 beneficiaries cutting across various academic cadres.
President General of Nibo town Union, Prof Tony Nwokoye commended Mr. Governor, Prof Charles Soludo for his unparalleled passion for education which he showcased by appointing seasoned educators to pilot the affairs of the state education sector
He equally disclosed that the ongoing perimeter fencing of the school is undertaken by the Nibo Town Union and has gulped up to N10 million, noting that the Union was open to future collaboration with the state.

The IG Aguowu Foundation is set to officially award 238 beneficiaries at the fourth phase of scholarship scheme slated to hold on August 30 at the International Conference Center , ICC, Awka.
