We won’t tolerate acts targeted at destroying Anambra roads – ACTDA

Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) has warned against activities targeted at destroying quality road maintenance in Anambra State.

Managing Director, Mr Ossy Onuko gave the warning while overseeing level of works going on in the thorough road maintenance of Esther Obiakor Avenue, Awka.

He said the road maintenance was motivated by the Governor’s choice in making Awka one of the best state Capitals within the country.

He said, “The ongoing road maintenance is part of proactive measure in ensuring that the much dilapidated Esther Obiakor avenue wears a new look, befitting road network found within the State Capital.

“I insisted on being physically present to ensure the work met the required standards prescribed by Governor Soludo.

“All efforts is targeted at giving Anambra the best quality of leadership it deserves in all facets of development across all sectors in the state.”

Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor explained that the ongoing road maintenance is part of Governor Soludo’s proactive efforts in preventing further dilapidation.

He praised Soludo for his higher quality of infrastructural development across the state, just as he thanked the ACTDA boss for his proactive approach, which he said had significantly contributed to the successes recorded in the state capital.

“I also commend ACTDA for its efforts to address the portholes and upgrade the road to ensuring a smoother drive for the road users within Awka metropolis. I call on Ndí Anambra to support Gov Soludo’s administration beyond 2025,” he added.

Also speaking, Deputy Commander of ACTDA Rapid Response, Mr. Henry Uchechukwu Nebolisa, emphasized the need of making the road motorable for the surrounding community.

He noted that good roads network among other infrastructural development gives facelift to State capital.

Acknowledging the residents’ pleas for road repairs and emphasizing government’s intervention through ACTDA, Nebolisa noted that government properties is everybody’s business, just as he urged residents to avoid activities that could damage the road, such as spilling engine oil.
