Nnamdi Kanu: Tinubu Displaying Pharaonic Attitude Towards The Igbos – Ohaneze
The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Igbo Youth’s apex socio-cultural organization, denounces the DSS’s undemocratic actions against Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team, led by Aloy Ejimakor Esq.
It is noteworthy that following Justice Binta Nyako’s refusal to recuse herself from Nnamdi Kanu’s case on September 24, 2024, despite supreme court indictment of bias and corruption, Aloy Ejimakor Esq with other legal team visited the DSS office in Abuja on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 2 pm to 6 pm, only to be denied access to their client, purportedly on instructions from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s stance has invoked parallels with ancient Pharaoh’s resistance to Israelite freedom. His actions are also perceived as hostile to the Igbo community, while SouthEast political leaders, comprising Governors, Senators, House of Representatives, and State Assembly members, appear detached and unresponsive.
The actions of Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Nnamdi Kanu case are causing concern among Ndigbo, potentially destabilizing national cohesion and mirroring the gravity of the 1967-1970 events.
The decision to deny Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu access to their client is both undemocratic and tyrannical, attributed to Bola Tinubu. Regrettably, amidst widespread injustice, marginalization, inflation, poverty, and rampant killings, the focus of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and corrupt Southeast governors on the 2027 election appears misguided and a time boom waiting to explode.
The preoccupation of Nigerians with the 2027 presidential election is a misdirected effort. Rather, perceptive Nigerians and politicians should channel their energy towards organizing a Constituent Assembly or Sovereign National Conference, considering the political evident and economic signs.
Based on current trends, Nigeria obviously appears irredeemable, irreconcilable, unsustainable, and irreparable, implying that a peaceful dissolution via a sovereign national conference, referendum, or constituent assembly may be essential for securing the economic and political future of the present Nigerians.
Fadaella Biscuits
Considering the 2027 Presidential election is comparable to addressing a minor ailment while disregarding a severe affliction. Yes,talking about 2027 Presidential election is like someone been eaten by leprosy all the body and the person is busy romancing a small round ringworm on the head. Nigeria’s structural issues stem from entrenched injustice and marginalization, disproportionately affecting the Igbo people, exemplified by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s extended detention in DSS custody for four years, ostensibly due to his ethnicity as an Igbo man. The controversial ruling and tactical delays by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja, is typically influenced by the Presidency under the then Mohammadu Buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, contributes to Nigeria’s image as a Banana Republic.
In light of the situation, it’s logical to assess the involvement of Igbo politicians, past and present, comprising governors, senators, and federal and state representatives, in hindering the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.Their verbal advocacy has not translated to action, resulting in continued detention. Igbo politicians should demonstrate concrete commitment to Nnamdi Kanu release or be ready to contend with rebels of the Youth and also set their towards the liberation project of Ndigbo within Nigeria political context.
It’s on record that on 23rd September 2024 at the 79th United Nations General Assembly, (UNGA) held in New York, United States of America Dr. Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria echoed to the world that “freedom is inalienable right and natural entitlement that cannot be denied to any people, the Palestine people deserve their independent, they deserve to have a home of their own and territories recognized by this very assembly and internation
It’s evident that Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Kashim Shettima, has publicly advocated for Nigerian Government to support Palestinian independence, urging the UN Assembly to recognize the new state. Similarly, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) encourage Dr. Kashim Shettima to demonstrate consistency by backing the creation of a new state in Old Eastern Nigeria, echoing Nnamdi Kanu’s call for a referendum.
Dr. Kashim Shettima’s support for Palestinian independence mirrors President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s views. Given this alignment, is it inconsistent for President Tinubu to deny similar autonomy to Biafra and maintain Nnamdi Kanu’s detention? The international community should seek clarification on Bola Tinubu’s involvement in Nnamdi Kanu’s ongoing detention by DSS authorities.
Ohanaeze Youth Council, closely interacting with Nigerians experiencing extreme poverty/ Penury. We foresee a potentially dire social upheaval in Nigeria, akin to Haiti’s recent turmoil. While widespread hunger, injustice marginalization persists, politicians are focused on the 2027 presidential election, which may provoke distressed Nigerians to react desperately.
Nigeria’s present Constitution is considered a fraudulent document devised by corrupt military elements. Thus, elections conducted under its 1999 provisions, as amended, will not produce authentic democracy but rather facilitate further rigging with impunity. Nigerians are exhausted with the status quo, and Nigerian leaders may face severe consequences when disillusioned youths, driven by frustration and desperation, resort to unrelenting social resistance and civil disobedience.
The Igbo people have concerns about Nigeria’s unity and have rejected it in its entirety due to historical experiences of marginalization and victimization. Being Igbo in Nigeria poses significant risks.
The experience of Ndigbo in Nigeria shows that it’s very risky to be an Igbo man in Nigeria. Yet it’s very easy to use leg to cross Atlantic Ocean, but it’s a very life threatening task to be an Igbo man in Nigeria. Ndigbo have experimented 2023 to see if Nigeria can be redeemed, but such hope culminated in electoral robbery and judicial exchange of hard currency which led to the Obituary of electoral law.
Despite hopes for change in 2023, electoral irregularities and judicial issues undermined the legitimacy of the electoral process, casting doubt on Nigeria’s unity.
Fellow Nigerians, as we anticipate potential food shortages(Famine) from 2025, I would like to emphasize that the 2024 Edo gubernatorial election serves as a critical precursor to the 2027 presidential election, if it will see the light of the day.
To salvage Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu must commence by addressing and rectifying deliberate marginalization against Ndigbo and promptly securing Nnamdi Kanu’s unconditional release, thus navigating Nigeria away from its current catastrophic path comparable to a ship battered by a tornado.
