Nibo bloodbath: Tony Nwoye sympathises with deceased family, demands investigation, compensation
Senator representing Anambra North, Dr. Tony Nwoye has condemned the Sunday brutal killing of over 10 youths at Nibo in Awka South local government area of Anambra State.
Nwonye, in a statement on Monday, described the incident as senseless act of violence that has shaken the very foundations of the community.
He sympathised with families of the victims, the people of Nibo, and the entire Anambra State, urging both federal and state governments to take swift and decisive action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The statement reads, “I strongly condemn the brutal killing of over 10 youths at Nibo yesterday, a senseless act of violence that has shaken the very foundations of our community.
“This inhuman act, which occurred during the Onwa Asaa festival, is a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in our society, and the need for collective action to prevent such tragedies.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the families of the victims, the people of Nibo, and the entire Anambra State. No words can adequately capture the pain and grief that this incident has inflicted, but we stand in solidarity with those affected.
“We urge both the federal and state governments to take swift and decisive action to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice.
“The wanton killings must stop, and those responsible must be held accountable. We cannot tolerate such acts of violence in our society.
“It is essential to recognize that Ndi Anambra are not known for such violence, barbarism and lawlessness. Our people value peace, harmony, and the sanctity of human life. We must come together to ensure that our communities remain safe and secure for all.
“We call on the authorities to Launch a thorough investigation into the killings and bring those responsible to justice; Increase security measures to prevent future incidents as well as provide support and compensation to the families of the victims.
“Let us unite in our condemnation of this senseless violence and work towards a safer, more peaceful Anambra State.Security of lives and properties is a collective responsibility.
“Let us join hands with security agencies, Anambra State Government and also Federal Government to make our society and State, a more secured environment than it is presently.”
