Gunmen Abduct Catholic Priest In Enugu
It was gathered that the kidnappers disguised themselves as police operatives and operated at a checkpoint before whisking the priest away to an unknown destination.
A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Gerald Ohaeri, has been abducted along Ugwuogo-Nike-Opi expressway in Nsukka, Enugu State.
He was kidnapped on Saturday evening, November 30, 2024, while on his way back to Isienu, Nsukka parish from a function in Enugu.
It was gathered that the kidnappers disguised themselves as police operatives and operated at a checkpoint before whisking the priest away to an unknown destination.
According to repors, the kidnappers also shot at a windscreen of a Hilux, although the occupants were not kidnapped following the arrival of the deputy governor’s convoy.
“It was someone inside the hilux that shouted that the people we thought were policemen were actually kidnappers,” a source said.
Fr. Gerald is a lecturer at the Spiritan School of Philosophy in Isienu, Nsukka.
