Anambra Can Be The Safest State In Nigeria - Agbodike
The lawmaker representing Ihiala Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike has said that it is possible that Anambra can be the safest state in Nigeria, if all hands are on deck to fight insecurity to standstill.
Agbodike who spoke in Awka while fielding questions from newsmen, opined that the governor has launched Operation Udo Ga Achi and not Operation Violence which implied that everyone should join forces with the state government to restore lasting peace in the state because he believes that security is everybody's business.
Agbodike stated that Anambra State is not the worst hit in insecurity as other states, according to him, have security challenges but Governor Soludo, he said has assured that through collaborative efforts Anambra can be the safest state in the country.
He therefore called on all stakeholders including politicians to join hands with the governor to liberate Anambra from the shackles of criminals. That all are victims of the men of the underworld and as such everybody should come together and solve it once and for all.
Agbodike insisted that it is very dangerous to politicize insecurity; that it is not the business of APGA or the business of any political party to fight insecurity rather it is the business of all and sundry to join the governor and set Anambra State free from hoodlums.
The Reps member noted that no state in Nigeria is free from insecurity and that politicians should not politicize it because Anambra, according to him, is not the worst hit. He maintained that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has made it clear that he would deploy both kinetic and non-kinetic means to address insecurity even as he admonished citizens to refrain from societal ills and embrace virtues Anambra represents.
The lawmaker stated that Anambra people are entrepreneurs and are not known for violence instead they are peace-loving. He said that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has extended a hand of Olive to criminals causing havoc in the state to desist forthwith and embrace the amnesty programme.
Agbodike who is also a member of the ECOWAS parliament reiterated the dire need to support Governor Soludo's peace missions in Anambra and all stakeholders rooting for peace in the state while urging criminals disrupting public peace to vacate Anambra State as he believes that few criminal elements can not define the entire citizens of Anambra State.
