ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT PROMISES TO SUPPORT REGINA PACIS MODEL SECONDARY SCHOOL ON TECH INNOVATIONS

The government of Anambra State has made a firm promise on supporting Regina Pacis Secondary School on Technological Innovation.

The Commissioner, Mr Patrick Agha Mba made this disclosure when he led a team of Management of Ministry of Youth Development on visit to Regina Pacis Model Secondary School, Onitsha. 
The visit was a directive of Mr Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, following  the presentation made by the  Secondary Schools on Umuboi Programme App it developed, at Anambra Innovation week 2024, with the Theme: “Creating the Future of Africa, Now”. The Innovation Week was designed to promote innovation, technological advancements, and digital transformation. 

Mr Patrick Agha Mba in line with the Governor's directive to fellow up with School's initiative to enhance Umuboi Programe.

During the visits the Commissioner disclosed that the Ministry has successfully carried out the first phase of Umuboi Programme and are gearing up to kickstart the second Phase with introduction of Taking Book and Pen.

The commissioner also said that the Solution Government believes in  collaborative teamwork, which will surely lead towards solutions that drive impact. 
Agha Mba finally used that opportunity to thank Mr. Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR for the idea of redefining youth empowerment from immediate consumption to a more of productive, innovative, exportive and impactful venture. While praising the students and management of Regina Pacis in development of the Umuboi App as well as past accomplishments, the Commissioner, described the operations of the App as great. He stated that it is in line with technology innovations like Edubot, Teca and 1Youth 2Skills Portals presently being by the Ministry of Youth Development for 1Youth 2Skills programme. He promised that the government of Anambra State will give all the necessary support to the students to enable them to maximize their potentials.

The highlight of the event was presentation on the Umuboi App by the students who created the App. They took their time to explain features of the App, which was basically on data collection and management, for youths and mentors of Umuboi Programme.
