Nigeria Police Dismantle Criminal Syndicate, Recover 134 Firearms, 1012 Ammunition, 56 Cars
A suspect, Muhammed Kabir and other members of his gang including Donald Okpere and Haruna Ibrahim were arrested for allegedly impersonating military personnel and defrauding victims of millions of naira, using fake alerts after purchasing gadgets and medical equipment.
The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has arrested several suspects across the country for different crimes and recovered dangerous weapons.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, said the operatives recovered 134 firearms, 1012 ammunition and other weapons.
He said about 179 armed robbery suspects, 100 kidnapping suspects, 152 Murder/homicide suspects, 34 suspects connected with the unlawful possession of prohibited firearms, 77 r@pe suspects, 110 suspected cultists were arrested in different operations.
According to him, the police were also able to recover 56 stolen vehicles and rescue 22 victims of kidnapping across the country.
