North No Longer Interested in Buhari – Atiku’s Aide

An aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has stated that the North is no longer interested in former President Muhammadu Buhari.

 

Abdul Rasheeth stated this in a post on X while reacting to Buhari’s recent statement reaffirming his commitment to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former president’s comments came after ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai claimed he had informed Buhari before leaving the APC for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

 

Atiku’s aide argued that El-Rufai’s decision to mention Buhari in his defection announcement had only worsened his situation.

He cited reactions from the North and comments on BBC Hausa, suggesting that the former president’s name carries little political weight in the region.

 

“By linking himself to Buhari, he has only created more trouble for himself, as the North is not interested in hearing anything related to Buhari,” Rasheeth said.
