Ahead of this year’s Ofala Festival and celebration of the 21st year of the Obi Of Onitsha Alfred Achebe Agbogidi the Ofala Steering Committee has launched a website which is the only official information platform for the festival and other information.
According to a release by the Editoral Publicity Lead of the Committee Mr Tony Lezianya the website is designed to serve as a distinct and central hub for all information relating to the festival proper. Onitsha, September 19, 2023: The Ofala Steering Committee has announced the launch of a website for the festival : https://ofala.org/ .
The committee is a selection of Onitsha indigenes from a cross section of constituent groups at home and abroad to plan and execute the Ofala festival under the authority of the Obi in Council.
The website is designed to serve as a distinct and central hub for all information relating to the Ofala.
Before now, news about the festival was provided amongst others on the website of the Onitsha Traditional Council.
The new website provides an opportunity for a better dissemination of information on the Ofala celebration, including highlights before, during and after the yearly festival. https://ofala.org/ offers a user-friendly experience with simple navigation, ensuring that visitors
can access and easily explore its content and access valuable information on the Ofala.
Chief (Dr.) Okechukwu Mike Areh, Onya Ozoma of Onitsha, and Chairman of Ofala Steering Committee said ;
“the website is an essential tool for drawing national, African and global attention to the Ofala,’’ adding that
“it will help in ensuring that the Ofala attains the status of a major event in the Nigerian, and African
cultural/tourism calendar.”

especially the sections on events, programmes, and resources”
“The committee requested journalists including photographers interested in attending the Ofala
events this year to register via media@ofala.org ” he said.
