Fadila Abdulrahman, the 23-year-old lady who was assaulted by thugs alleged to have been sent by Hon Satomi Ahmed, the member representing Jere Federal Constituency at the national assembly says she was beaten up by the thugs because she left the lawmaker’s political camp.
According to her, Satomi had derailed from the political manifesto with which he had campaigned and won elections.
Speaking to journalists at the police command headquarters in Maiduguri, Fadila said when she first left the political camp, the same set of people threatened to deal with her but they did not go beyond the threat until now.
Explaining the Sunday, January 23 incident she said, “I was in my shop when these guys came and met Me. I don’t know what happened but they said to me they have been sent to me by their boss whom I don’t know. They said they could do anything, they could even kill me. They immediately started beating me.
After they finished beating me they said they would kill me. I didn’t do anything to them.
“Everybody is entitled to their opinion. One can decide to pitch his or her tent with any candidate or political party, which is what I did and that is what pushed them to come after me. Although they didn’t tell me what made them beat me, I suspect it is because of what I posted on Facebook,” Abdulrahman stated.
“All the statements I made in the video were forced on me by the thugs. They insisted I must say those statements else they would kill me.
“He has not done anything to me. He has never given me anything and I have never demanded anything from him. When I refused to say the words, at the first, they increased the beating that was why I said those words. They had put me in a circle and nobody was there, I was afraid they could kill me.
“I am not a politician, am a media Woman. I had a political relationship with him but not anymore. I didn’t post anything contradictory, it was just a write-up that they insisted I must delete and I deleted it. There was also something they said I should pronounce but I refused to say it, that was when they called the rest of them and they all started beating me all over again,” she narrated.
Abdulrahman said she just expressed her modest opinion without mentioning any name adding that the statement was still on her Facebook page.
Meanwhile, the member representing Jere Federal constituency on whose order the thugs allegedly acted, Hon Satomi Ahmed has distanced himself from the thugs and the incident, which was earlier reported.
