Dr. Maduka calls for an Improved Education System as he pays Courtesy Visit on UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor

The Founder of Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Centre, Dr. Godwin Maduka on Wednesday stressed the need for an improved accessible Education system in the state.

He stated this during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Professor Charles Esimone, FAS.

Dr. Maduka, a Gubernatorial aspirant in Anambra state, disclosed that he had earlier toured the campus to have a glimpse of what it looks like and further identify possible ways to support the University named after the great Nnamdi Azikiwe.

The Umuchukwu born Medical Doctor stressed that Education is key to the development of any nation. In his words, “Education is the answer. We need an upgrade and break barriers in our Education system especially in ICT, Medicine, Engineering, among others. I am going to adopt Nnamdi Azikiwe University. We will find better ways to partner with the institution to take it to enviable heights. There are lots of brilliant minds in the institution and we should be having exchange programmes for the cross-breeding of ideas. This will pave way for an improved Education system”, Maduka averred.

The Philanthropist further extolled the leadership qualities of the Vice-Chancellor whom he described as humble and committed to the significant growth and development of Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the visit is timely and paramount. He stated that since he assumed office, he has been reaching out to well-meaning Ndi Anambra to join hands in taking the institution named after the Zik of Africa. He asserted that the ‘Igwebuike Concept’ remains what has continued to help the University, especially in infrastructural development.

Professor Esimone urged the Pain Management Expert to extend a hand of partnership to the University to advance its course.

He further assured of the University Management’s commitment to repositioning the institution through its Project200 drive.

Present at the courtesy call includes the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Frederick Odibo, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, the University Orator, Professor Ken Nworgu, among others.
