DSS Releases Handbook To Protect VIPs From Kidnapping

The Department of State Security [DSS] has written a Handbook based on kidnapping to enlighten the public on ways to protect Very Important Personalities (VIPs) from kidnappers.

This was disclosed in a document obtained from DSS containing a letter addressed to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] in Abuja issued by Ahmed Salisu, on behalf of DSS Director General.

Salisu said in the letter titled “Forwarding of Kidnapping Handbook” that the book was written following in-depth assessment of kidnapping trend across the States of the federation in recent years.

He said that as a result of the seeming lack of awareness of basic preventive tips and guidelines among the populace, DSS, as part of its proactive measures against the crime, produced the handbook.

The handbook titled “Kidnapping, Why Me and My Family” is aimed at sensitizing Very Important Personalities (VIPs) for their perusal and considered action to protect them from kidnappers.
