No fewer than one hundred Corps Members serving in Anambra State, will be included in the state government’s one youth two skills empowerment programme.

This was made known by the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, during the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch B stream 11 orientation course for Corps Members, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp , Ummuawulu/ Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Speaking through the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Patrick Agha Mba, the Governor charged the Corps Members to execute their primary assignments with commitment, dedication and patriotism, so as to contribute meaningfully to the development and growth of the state.

Equally speaking, the Chairman NYSC State Governing Board who doubles as the Hon Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Patrick Agha Mba represented by Comrade Ken Okoli, enjoined the Corps Members to translate what they learnt during the orientation course into concrete action by bringing positive change in their Places of Primary Assignment.

In her address the State Coordinator, NYSC, Anambra State, Mrs Blessing Ekene Iruma, pledged to assist government in the developmental programmes.

She also charged Corps employers to accept Corps Members posted to their organizations and regard them as permanent staff in order to enable them relax and work effectively and efficiently in the workplace, thereby contributing to high productivity.

She reminded the Corps Members to continue to be good ambassadors of their families, institutions, scheme and the nation and therefore should shun any negative tendencies. The Coordinator specifically admonished them not to use the social media negatively, rather they should use that to advance peace, unity and progress of the nation.

Our correspondent reports that no fewer than 1951 Corps Members took part in the Passing Out Parade.
