Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was absent as party members attended a guber rally for the Osun state governorship election.
The All Progressives Congress guber rally had in attendance, at least ten governors and other party stalwarts in Osogbo on Tuesday.
The vice president despite being listed as a guest speaker was not on ground at the rally.
It is not yet known why he missed the rally.
Also, the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola who is at loggerheads with the state Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola seeking re-election was also absent.
Sola Fasure, the media aide to Aregbesola, said his boss was not invited for the event, and the minister was attending an official event in Lagos on Tuesday.
Osinbajo’s defeat in the primary might have  created a wedge between him and some of the party’s leaders, Naija News understands.
Some of the Governors in attendance included: Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna, Abdulrahaman Abudulrasak of Kwara, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and Prof. Babagana Zulum of Borno State.
Also in attendance were; a former APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole; the 2023 APC presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
