Federal Lawmakers from South East on Thursday protested against the exclusion of the region from $22.7 billion loan after one week when it was passed on the floor of Senate.
Senate had last week approved President Muhammadu Buhari request to borrow $22.7 billion.
Addressing newmen, former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu after marathon meeting with Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan claiming most of South East Senators where not in Chamber when the loan request was passed.
He explained the most South East Senators were out of the chamber for National Assignments.
He promised that the Senate will still consider the loan in order to cater for the South East region in the $22.7 loan adding that the lawmakers will ensure that right is done.
Ekwerremadu briefed newsmen in company of Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe , Senator Rochas Okorocha and other House of Representatives members.
