An Imo State born human rights activist and author, Comrade Paul Ikechukwu Njoku, has described the Southeast governors as “bunch of clueless, unpatriotic and cowardly elements who have just sabotaged and committed the lives and property of Ndigbo into the hands of the Fulani militia, bandits, rapists and ruthless terrorists by refusing to adopt a regional security outfit that guarantees the real concept of indigenous community policing devoid of the tenacity, regulation and collaboration of the Federal Government which to me remain an orchestrated and organised deceit of Fulanization and jihad”.
Recall that that the Southeast governors, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, as well as some religious leaders on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, held the ‘Southeast Security Summit’ in Enugu with the theme: “Strategic Partnership for Effective Community Policing in the Southeast Geopolitical zone” where the Southeast governors finally adopted the Community Policing programme of the Federal Government and the Nigerian Police Force and thus refused to opt for the Operation Ogbunigwe Regional Community Policing initiative of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
The rights activist accused the Chairman of the Southeast governors’ forum, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State as “a product of infidelity, sabotage and emissary of imaginary presidential ambition hence the lives and property of his mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunties, in-laws, children, babies, clergy, friends and relatives do not matter to him at all”.
In his press statement sent to ElombahNews, Comrade Njoku, accused Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and his Anambra State counterpart, Governor Willie Obiano, of “acting like useful slaves and efulefus to the Fulani caliphate”.
“They also acted like myopic protégés to Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State by not protesting and discarding the Federal Government system and definition of Community Policing whereby adopting and legalizing regional security initiative that guarantees the indigenous concept of what community policing really represents.
“Operation Ogbunigwe should as a matter of urgency be adopted and legalised as a regional security outfit in the Southeast. Southeast governors should immediately emulate their Southwest counterparts in this regard.
“The real concepts of the indigenous operation of Community Policing is of a guaranteed and recognized international law of the United Nations Security Council and human rights which empower an individual or groups to adopt strategic approach to self-defense against non-state actors and unforeseen deadly circumstances which must not compulsorily require Aso-Rock to be making fruitless dictations on how I should protect and defend myself against my invaders, enemies, rapists, arsonists, beasts, marauders, killers and murderers”, Comrade Njoku stated.
