Parading the suspects in Minna, the state command through the Police Public Relations Officer, PRO DSP Wasiu Abiodun said the arrests were part of continued efforts to eradicate crime and criminality in some areas of the state.
Twelve suspected criminals connected to various robbery incidents of motorcycles and handsets during the night within the Minna Metropolis have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command.

The affected areas include Barkin-Sale, Kpakungu, Shiroro road, Mandela road, Soje-A, Sauka-Kahuta and its environs.
According to him,” On receipt of the information, a team of Police operatives attached to the Tactical Support Team of the Command mobilized to the scene and arrested them for conspiracy and armed robbery on 13 August 2023″
During interrogation, one of the suspects, Jibrin Nadako (J Boy) of Barkin-Sale aged 22 explained that they had been engaging in stealing of motorcycles and snatching of handsets, mostly at night within Minna, the state capital.
Other members of the gang include, Moh’d Usman (Smally) 20yrs of Sauka-Kahuta, Minna, Kure Musa 25yrs of Kpakungu, Minna.
Upon their arrest, Abiodun told newsmen that the suspects led the Police team to four receivers to who they sold most of the Phones at the Obasanjo shopping complex
The state police spokesman said further findings revealed that about ten motorcycles were stolen by the gang at different locations in Minna and five receivers of the stolen motorcycles were picked.
”The receivers bought the motorcycles within the range of #80,000 to #120,000 from them were arrested at Paiko”
However, three motorcycles were recovered; one Bajaj and two Jincheng motorcycles while all suspects are under investigation at the TST office, SHQ Dutsen-Kura Minna.
